First of all the package is gorgeous, while clearly trying
to imitate higher end brands I love how you can tell what colour is what just
from a quick glance. The clear portion on the top is a lovely touch too. In the
tube they look bright and may put people off. But I found it to be really
sheer. Almost too sheer, but that might be because I’m used to wearing heavily
pigmented bright lip stains and lip sticks.
Two or three coats - subtle glossy sheen |
I found I needed at least three coats to build up a colour
but the colour is really nice and subtle which I think makes a nice change.
Although, I’d rather that it came off just a little brighter from the first
swipe. The staying power is probably around an hour or so because of the
formula. It’s really moisturising but you have to make sure you have prepped
your lips as any dry bits I had were highlighted by this.
I will definitely be wearing this on its own but its main
use will be for a base for other lip products. Rather than living on my shelf
this is a make-up product, which will probably mean it gets a lot of use in
topping up during the day when whatever else I’m wearing has started to wear.
Also, if I leave the house without lipstick I have a nice subtle colour that’s fool
proof to apply.
Overall, I would recommend these to beginners or people who
don’t like strong lip colours. I want to look at some of the other colours for
days when I want a less dramatic lip look. I have my eye on Candy Apple next.
Revlon Lip Butters are £7.99 and can be bought here or in
Boots stores.
This colour is so pretty! I love it, looks good on you
